The Sharks made a harder push tonight, for sure. Maybe it wasn't our best game, but you know, sometimes you've just got to find ways to win. That was coach John Hynes' message to us after the game. Over the course of an 82-game season, they're not all going to be perfect, and in the end, what matters is two points. It sounds cheesy, but good teams find ways to win on not their best nights. Certainly, we needed that win.

The sightseeing is over. We returned to our regular-season routine Friday. It's pretty regimented: breakfast at the hotel in the morning; bus over to the rink; meetings; morning skate; do what you've got to do; bus back to the hotel; meal; up to your room with an extra hour to kill for the 8 o'clock local time puck drop. I'm 33 now, and I do find as I get older, I don't nap as much, so I slept for, like, 20 minutes. Just kind of killed some time in my room. Read a bit. I like to read.

My name is hard to pronounce for a lot of people. It's Polish. My grandmother on my dad's side was from Warsaw. My grandfather on my dad's side was from a little town called Kielce. He left home at 15 to fight in the Polish resistance in World War II and was a very proud Slavic man. Our family doesn't have Czech ties, but we have deep roots in this part of the world, and so it has been special for me and my dad, Tom, to spend time together in Prague.

This is my first trip to continental Europe, so I'm quite excited. I did some reading about Bern, a city built in medieval times with a lot of cool history and architecture. We flew to Zurich, bussed to Bern and arrived about 4:30 p.m. local time Saturday. Right away, I showered up, brushed my teeth, threw on my rain jacket and walked around for a while. It was honestly comical how picturesque the city was, despite a light rain. Just gorgeous.
My Story: Proud to be an Ally
I'm aware of my on-ice persona. I'm a bigger guy, I'm covered in scars, I have no teeth and I like to fight, but that's only part of my identity and just part of our identity as hockey players collectively. But to me, true masculinity and true toughness comes when you're willing to put yourself out there in the name of acceptance and equality. To me, that's toughness.

The Senators release "Boro Cop" with incredible internet-winning post
BarDown Staff Mark Borowiecki Mark Borowiecki has become known for his willingness to do the dirty work on the ice, never backing down to an opponent or letting anyone get away with running at a teammate. While this style has become synonymous with his game on the ice, he recently flexed that same sort of attitude off the ice when duty called. “Boro” played hero in Vancouver during the Sens off-day when he managed to foil a car robbery attempt.

Mark Borowiecki explains why he's so confused about latest suspension
Mark Borowiecki was dished out another suspension on Monday after pleading his case to George Parros of the Department of Player Safety. The three-game hit came at the expense of Cody Eakin, who was hit by big #74 while skating with his head down, receiving some of that impact on his head. It didn’t help Borowiecki’s case that the latest questionable hit came on the heels of his return from another suspension – a one game ban for an elbow to Urho Vaakanaienen of the Boston Bruins.
