There’s an urban legend about a former slaughterhouse in Utica, Michigan, that is said to be haunted by the spirits of pigs that were slaughtered there. The rumors of the slaughterhouse go back to when Utica Packing was shut down and closed its operations. Many people say that although operations were shut down, you could clearly see remains left behind in the abandoned slaughterhouse. At one time, Utica Packing was the largest pork processing plant east of the Mississippi.
