Quality of life and multiple long-term conditions in Southeast Asia: a systematic review and meta-analysis - Nature Communications

Full article: Chemical Adherence Testing for Assessing Adherence to Antihypertensive Medications: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Prevalence of Nonadherence
Abstract Nonadherence to antihypertensive medications is highly prevalent, driving cardiovascular risk. Chemical adherence testing (CAT) can detect the presence of medications or their metabolites in bodily fluid, though it is unclear if its use to date has been equitable. This review aimed to identify the demographics with hypertension in which CAT has been used previously, and to estimate the resulting prevalence of nonadherence. Multiple databases were searched from 2013 to February 2024.
The risk of Long Covid symptoms: a systematic review and meta-analysis of controlled studies - Nature Communications
Abstract The global evidence on the risk of symptoms of Long Covid in general populations infected with SARS-CoV-2 compared to uninfected comparator/control populations remains unknown. We conducted a systematic literature search using multiple electronic databases from January 1, 2022, to August 1, 2024. Included studies had ≥100 people with confirmed or self-reported COVID-19 at ≥28 days following infection onset, and an uninfected comparator/control group.
'Restoring nature is about restoring hope for the future'
Jobs, travel, health, local services… It’s not hard to come up with a list of things you’d expect regional mayoral candidates to be campaigning for right now. And as their literature plops through your front door with the pizza flyers and bills, you probably wouldn’t expect nature to feature prominently in their mini manifestos. Which is a little strange. We are a nature-loving region in a nature-loving country. We are the most nature-depleted nation in the G7.

ABSTRACT Cycling time trial (TT) protocols have been shown to be reliable in trained cyclists, but their reproducibility in lesser-trained individuals is unknown.
Exercise-induced hypohydration impairs 3 km treadmill-running performance in temperate conditions
ABSTRACT Research assessing exercise-induced hypohydration on running performance in a temperate environment is scarce. Given the weight-bearing nature of running, the negative effects of hypohydration might be offset by the weight-loss associated with a negative fluid balance. Therefore, this study investigated the effect of exercise-induced hypohydration on running performance in temperate conditions.
Prognostic models for all‐cause and cardiovascular mortality in type 2 diabetes: Systematic review
What is already known? Numerous prognostic models have been developed to predict all-cause and cardiovascular mortality in individuals with T2DM, but their clinical uptake remains limited. What this study has found? Substantial variability in model performance across settings. Calibration and validation were frequently underreported. High-risk populations such as South Asians, Indigenous groups, and those from low- and middle-income countries were largely absent from model development.
