Does Leak Matter? A Novel Dynamic Leak Model to Simulate Leak for Performance Testing of Manual Neonatal Resuscitation Devices. A Bench Study
1 Introduction Globally approximately 10% of infants do not breathe at birth [1, 2]. These infants require resuscitation with positive pressure ventilation (PPV). The delivery of PPV via a facemask using a self-inflating bag (SIB), T-piece resuscitator (TPR) or flow-inflating bag is recommended in the 2023 ILCOR guidelines [1]. The reliability of these devices to deliver consistent adequate tidal volumes and inflation pressures to newborn infants is critical for effective resuscitation [3, 4].
Blood Donation and Monetary Incentives: A Meta-Analysis of Cost-Effectiveness
Probably in large part due to Richard Titmuss’ book The Gift Relationship: From Human Blood to Social Policy [1], there is a large support for a voluntary system of blood and plasma donations, where donors are not paid.
Randomised study of a new inline respiratory function monitor (Juno) to improve mask seal and delivered ventilation with neonatal manikins
Materials and methods Staff of a newborn intensive care nursery at a major metropolitan teaching hospital (Westmead Sydney, Australia) were invited to participate. Forty-nine experienced NICU staff (nurses, nurse practitioners, doctors: junior and senior) consented to participate. All had previously received extensive training in neonatal resuscitation, demonstrating proficiency annually in the locally run NICU resuscitation course.

Providence pension crisis won’t vanish on its own
As the long-term economic effects of the pandemic are felt, the Providence pension fund crisis is entering its final act. Providence owes its pensioners more than a billion dollars more than it has saved. It is a complicated issue; however, our biggest failures in public policy occur when challenges and opportunities are complex and can’t… Subscriber Only Subscribe with Providence Business News to keep reading. Choosing paths that lead to healthy, vibrant communities
PROVIDENCE – My father died when I was nine years old. He was born in Brockton, went to Brown and served in the Navy on a destroyer based out of Newport. When my father was 43 years old he went for a walk before work and had a heart attack and died. It was the day before Thanksgiving. My mother had just turned 37. After my father’s death, my mom found work and we received Social Security benefits that helped keep the heat on during the winter. I am an only child and had no surviving grandparents.
Proposed financial transfer fee is not a racial discrimination issue
I am writing in response to an article in Sunday’s Independent about the mayor’s proposal of a 3 percent transfer fee on money sent out of the country by local families or individuals that have immigrated to our community.I see in the article that Esdras Castaneda had no problem pulling the race card straight out of the gate. This has nothing to do with race. I will also add that it’s in an exploratory stance at the time. It is being looked into.
