Giorgio Armani, the legendary designer who pioneered red-carpet fashion, has passed in x at the age of x. Born in the Northern Italian town of Piacenza, Armani did not initially expect to become involved with fashion. He became interested in medicine while in high school, and would go on to study it at the University of Milan. But after his third year, in 1953, he left to join the army, where he was assigned to the military hospital in Verona due to his military background.
