HUNTINGTON — The Cabell County Board of Education will swear in its new superintendent and newly elected board members during a scheduled meeting at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the Central Office, 2850 5th Ave. According to the agenda, Keith Thomas will take the oath of office as superintendent, while Lauren Hensley and Coy Miller will be sworn in as members of the Board of Education, replacing Mary Neely and Rhonda Smalley.
HUNTINGTON — A Kentucky man was sentenced Monday to three months in federal prison after admitting to embezzling more than $40,000 from a Huntington labor union while serving as its financial secretary. James Burke, 56, of Greenup, was also sentenced to three years of supervised release and ordered to pay $40,011.46 in restitution after pleading guilty to embezzlement of labor union assets.
