HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — The mayor of Hartford is highlighting initiatives to provide tenants with resources when they experience unsafe and unlawful housing conditions. The city has granted $750,000 to Greater Hartford Legal Aid to support free legal aid for tenants pursuing action against their landlords. “It is definitely the right thing to do to first contact the person responsible for your property,” said Judith Rothschild, Hartford’s director of licensing and inspections.

Local pickleball enthusiasts have been calling on the town to fix cracks on the courts at the Veterans Memorial Athletic Complex on South Road. “Earlier this morning they were packed, people waiting, in the evenings as well, a lot of utilization. We’re just hoping they’ll be maintained so we can continue to enjoy them.
