Orange County clears way for big industrial park outside Hillsborough Original

Hillsborough The Orange County Board of Commissioners paved the way for the Research Triangle Logistics Park to be built on the southeastern corner of N.C. 86 and Interstate 40 just outside Hillsborough. The 6-1 zoning approval Tuesday night will allow developer Terra Nova to build a 2.3 million square foot project aimed at attracting warehouse, light industry and research companies. Commissioner Renee Price voted no, questioning the need for an access road that developer Terra Equity Inc.

That, of course, is when Hurricane Katrina slammed into the Louisiana and Mississippi coasts, leaving millions homeless. Gallagher and his parents fled to North Carolina, ending up in Durham after a brief stay in Charlotte.
