1 Introduction Congenital anomalies are responsible for up to 30%–40% of neonatal deaths (Phibbs et al. 2022; Byrne et al. 2023). Lethal neonatal disorders are difficult to diagnose due to multiple genetic etiologies and phenotypic variability (Ellard et al. 2015). Prenatal exome sequencing is often not possible due to a lack of DNA availability (Ellard et al. 2015; Stals et al. 2018).
