I'm a freelance journalist based in Seoul, South Korea.

I primarily write longform stories for outlets like the New Yorker, The Atlantic, MIT Technology Review, or Rest of World. I've lately been focused on stories about people and technology, but in the past I've written profiles of tech moguls and North Korean propaganda poets as well as dispatches from political protests.

I've done documentary production with shows like Vice News on HBO and Al Jazeera's Fault Lines.

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul of Thailand announced a suspension of new gun permits on Tuesday, one of several firearm control measures presented by the government in response to the deadly mass shooting at a high school last week. In addition to the moratorium on permits, Mr. Anutin said that he had directed one of his deputies to expedite the drafting of a firearms law that would impose harsher penalties for gun-related offenses than existing laws.
