(CNN) – The Food and Drug Administration has applied its highest-risk warning to a recent recall of frozen berries sold at Publix grocery stores. The recall for GreenWise-brand organic blueberries was initiated in early July. Later that month, the recall expanded to include GreenWise frozen mixed berries. Publix recalls frozen berries over E. coli concerns. On Tuesday, the FDA categorized the recall as Tier 1. The agency said the products have been linked to a multistate outbreak of E. coli.

(CNN) - The Drug Enforcement Administration has joined the investigation into the death of actress Hayden Panettiere. That report is according to the New York Times and ABC News, citing sources familiar with the matter. Panettiere died Sunday at an apartment in Greenville, South Carolina. The coroner’s office said first responders found her in cardiac arrest and tried unsuccessfully to resuscitate her. Dispatch audio from Broadcastify references a possible overdose.

LIMERICK, Maine (WMTW) – A New Jersey family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit after their 6-year-old daughter died in a freak badminton accident. The lawsuit alleges the badminton racket was defective. Lucy Morgan died while her family was vacationing in Maine two years ago. “I don’t think anyone can ever recover from the loss of a child,” Travis Brennan, the attorney for the Morgan family, said.

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB/Gray News) - A former Florida police officer has been arrested and fired after an investigation into the alleged misuse of law enforcement databases. The Sarasota Police Department said Tuesday that 38-year-old Cory Waiters faces felony charges of offenses against users of computers, computer systems, computer networks and electronic devices, and official misconduct.

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A 17-year-old has spent more than two weeks on life support after he broke his neck during lifeguard training in California. The accident happened when Finn Renard took a dive into the ocean off Mission Bay on his last day of his junior lifeguard internship. Nineteen days after he broke his neck, Finn is in the ICU and on life support. “Just please pray for him,” Courtney Renard, Finn’s mother, said.
