The city has allocated money to the Hoodstock Foundation, a grassroots group, to help prevent violent and potentially deadly incidents before they happen. “Since engaging in a contract with us the previous year, they have been engaged in 17 coordinated incident responses, 14 high-risk conflicts.

Toledo starting to chip away at enormous delinquent water bill amount

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - There is some good news about the massive amount of money the city of Toledo is owed for water bills. People are starting to pay up now that the city is starting to shut off service to residents who are delinquent. Water shutoffs started again in June. City leaders say people who got the disconnection notice could stay on if they paid up or went into a payment plan. It seems like that is working — and the numbers reflect it.

O’Shea’s Bar closes in Toledo; owner plans new restaurant

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - O’Shea’s Bar has closed in Toledo, and the owner says he is shifting his focus to a new business on Laskey Road. The owner, Sam Moussa, said the decision to close O’Shea’s was his, not an action taken by the city or police. The closure has angered some staff members, but Moussa said the problems were too much to continue operating. The city previously called the bar a nuisance, citing about 170 police calls to the locatipoon West Sylvania Avenue over the past three years.
