KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - A suspect is dead after a police chase and an officer-involved shooting in East Knox County, according to the sheriff’s office. It happened Friday around 10:25 p.m. KCSO said a deputy tried to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle when the driver sped off. Deputies chased the vehicle for about 30 minutes before ending in the 7800 block of Kodak Road. According to KCSO, following the chase, there was an encounter and shots were fired.

Person injured in accidental shooting in East Knox County, KPD says

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - One person was injured in an accidental shooting in East Knox County Friday evening. The Knoxville Police Department said two coworkers were in the parking lot near the Amazon facility after work, showing off their guns. That’s when one of the guns discharged, hitting one of the coworkers in the leg. According to KPD, the person was taken to the UT Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
