WASHINGTON (AP) — United States Capitol Police on Tuesday arrested a California man with what they said was a guillotine in the bed of a pickup truck parked near the U.S. Capitol complex. Police detained 35-year-old Philan-Tam-Duy Le of Julian, California, shortly after 3 p.m., when the truck he was driving containing the device was illegally parked east of the Capitol grounds, Capitol police said.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE/Gray News) - Authorities said two women were killed in a shooting near the University of Louisville’s Belknap campus. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victims as Iyanna Warr and Trinity Durham, both 20. The shooting happened at 1:44 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, at Family Scholar House in the 400 block of Reg Smith Circle. Campus police and Louisville Metro Police found the women when they arrived.

(AP) — A man killed eight of his relatives, including four children, as they gathered for Sunday dinner at a home in Billings, Montana, just weeks after his parents forced him to move out, a family member told The Associated Press. Brad Ireland, whose former wife and two children were among the dead, identified the shooter as 44-year-old Alan Smith. Smith’s parents, who were also killed, had asked him to move out, but he returned on Sunday and opened fire, Ireland said.
