BELL COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) - On June 24, 1884, the cornerstone was laid for Bell County’s third courthouse in Belton. The structure was completed by 1885. Bell County officials had moved toward a new courthouse after grand juries condemned the existing building as an unsafe repository for county records. The Architects designed it to be practically fireproof, with limestone walls and space for courtrooms, offices, and records.

ROSEBUD, Texas (KWTX) - On June 23, 1979, LaDainian Tomlinson was born in Rosebud. He first made his mark locally in 1996 at University High School, setting the city single-season rushing record with 2,554 yards, then at TCU, he led the nation in rushing and set the NCAA single-game record with 406 yards against UTEP in 1999.

BELTON, Texas (KWTX) - On June 22, 1987, the Bell County Expo Center opened in Central Texas. The opening marked the start of a major regional entertainment and event hub, a short drive down I-35 from communities throughout the corridor. Weeks earlier, the Expo’s Grand Opening Gala featured a benefit dinner that raised more than $10,000 for Scott & White Pediatric Services through the Children’s Miracle Network.
