A new BBC drama will tell the story of Lord Woodbine. He was the Trinidadian calypso musician who guided the Beatles during their Hamburg years. The six-part series, called Hamburg Days, focuses on the band's time in the German port from 1960 to 1962, where they performed more than 250 shows near the Reeperbahn. Sherwood actor Jorden Myrie will play the lead. Filming takes place in Liverpool and Germany.

The coolest part? This 1997 record stormed back onto six different charts dated July 11. The record climbed to No. 3 on Top Rock Albums and snagged No. 4 on Top Rock and Alternative Albums charts. It hit No. 7 on Indie Store Album Sales.

Frank Ferrer walked away from Guns N' Roses in March 2025. Nineteen years had passed since he first sat behind the kit for them. His first interview after leaving appeared on Saturday, July 11, 2026. "Everything comes to an end," Ferrer told Rolling Stone. "I knew this thing wasn't gonna be forever. I was just so happy I got to do it when I got to do it, and now I'm doing other stuff." The band described the split as friendly. Isaac Carpenter took over on drums.

Neil Young has re-recorded two songs he wrote as a teenager in the 1960s for his upcoming album with the Chrome Hearts titled Second Song. The musician recorded "I'll Love You Forever" and "Casting Me Away From You" after running out of new material during studio sessions. Young wrote about the recording process on his website. "The Chrome Hearts and I recorded the five new songs. Four in the first day and one more on the second day. We were then out of songs. We needed more," he wrote.

Mötley Crüe dropped a limited box set. The collection features their first five studio albums. BMG is rolling out the set in three different versions: a 5LP picture disc package, a 5CD picture disc replica package, and 250 hand-numbered copies sold only at the Crüeseum with a reverse color outer box. Each album went platinum, while the Dr. Feelgood album scored 6X platinum certification in the United States.

AC/DC launched a 17-date run across North America on July 11 in Charlotte, North Carolina. This marks the second stateside leg of their PWR/UP tour. The Pretty Reckless will perform before the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers at each stop. Shows continue through Sept. 29, wrapping up in Philadelphia. Stadiums in Denver, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Atlanta, Toronto, and East Rutherford, New Jersey, will host the band. Other cities across the United States and Canada are part of the itinerary.

The Museum of Music in Bologna launched a show on Friday, July 10. It displays 37 photographs from Queen's 1986 Magic Tour, the last with the band's original members: Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon. Visitors can experience it until Oct. 11, 2026. Photographer Torleif Svensson took these shots while trailing the A Kind of Magic tour across all 26 dates. For years, the images sat tucked away in his private collection. Then, someone found them again between 2019 and 2021.

Paul McCartney laid down bass tracks on the Rolling Stones' new album, Foreign Tongues, which arrived on Friday, July 10. The ex-Beatle appears on "Covered In You." This marks his second stint with the band after contributing to "Bite My Head Off" from 2023's Hackney Diamonds. The Beatles handed the band "I Wanna Be Your Man" back in 1963. It became their second single and climbed to No. 12 in the U.K. Producer Andrew Watt helmed both Hackney Diamonds and Foreign Tongues.
