WKYT-TV is the CBS television station in Lexington Kentucky, serving the Central and Eastern Kentucky. Its studio and transmitter is located in Lexington, east of the intersection of I-75 & US 60 on Winchester Road. Its newscasts are on each weekday at 5-7am, 10-10:30am, noon-1pm, 4-6:30pm, 11-11:30pm and weekends at 6pm / 11 pm. WKYT regularly shows University of Kentucky Wildcats sports events which are popular in the market, as the television flagship station of the IMG UK Sports Marketing Network and as part of the Southeastern Conference's contracts with CBS and the SEC Network, syndicated by ESPN Regional Television. 3 people indicted in connection to 2022 death of 7-year-old boy
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Three people have been indicted in connection to the death of a seven-year-old boy under foster care. Wednesday, Louisville officials said Deborah Francis, Jillian Parks and Amanda Whitlow have been indicted in connection to the death of seven-year-old Ja’Ceon Terry in July 2022. The coroner said it was from “positional asphyxia” and ruled it as a homicide. Terry had lived within the Bellewood and Brooklawn foster care facility in Bashford Manor.

Grandfather killed when tree branch falls on him during walk with grandson
GENEVA, Ala. (WTVY/Gray News) - An Alabama grandfather was killed when a large tree limb fell on him as he walked through his yard with his grandson, officials say. Melvin T. Dixon, 68, was pronounced dead after an oak limb fell on him around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. The grandfather had been walking through his yard with his young grandson in the Fadette community, Geneva County Coroner Donny Adkinson said. The coroner said Dixon was pinned beneath the tree limb after it fell.
Part of Richmond Road shut down after semi truck hits power lines
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Part of Richmond Road is expected to be closed for up to five hours after a semi truck struck power lines, according to Lexington police. The crash happened at the intersection of Richmond Road and Shriners Lane. A utility pole was also knocked down in the incident. Police say both directions of Richmond Road are shut down as crews work to remove the wires. The driver was not injured.

BELLINGHAM, Wash. (KOMO) – A seal pup found in a Washington tidal basin is recovering from a gunshot wound to the head. Casey McLean, executive director and veterinary nurse with Sealife Response, Rehab and Research, or SR3, said the harbor seal is now on the way to recovery. “Doing an exam, we discovered a head wound,” McLean said. Rescued at just 3 weeks old, the pup was found at Smith Gardens tidal flats in Bellingham.
