LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Showers and storms are likely early this evening as it will be breezy with temperatures falling into the 70s. A few storms could be on the strong to severe side with damaging winds and large hail the main threats. Most activity should wrap up by midnight as skies turn partly cloudy overnight. Overnight lows are expected to be in the low to mid 60s. Monday will be a really nice day as we see plenty of sunshine and much lower humidity.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Thursday is the longest day of the year. At 4:50 pm, the Northern Hemisphere reaches it’s maximum tilt towards the Sun meaning Thursday, the Sun reached it’s highest point in the sky all year. In Lexington, the Sun will be in the sky for 14 hours and 48 minutes. This year though, summer is coming 18 hours earlier than last year. Why? It has to do with our calendar adjustments.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Partly to mostly cloudy skies will be with us for this evening as it will be very warm with temperatures in the 80s to start. A stray shower or storm will also be possible early especially in southern Kentucky. Some clouds stick around overnight as it will be warm and muggy with lows in the low 70s. Monday will start out with a mix of sun and clouds and be very warm, with temperatures rising into the 80s by mid-morning.
