FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - Fee-for-service Medicaid providers in Kentucky are set to receive a 4% cut to reimbursement rates effective Aug. 1, according to a letter from the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Amy Staed, CEO of the Kentucky Association of Private Providers, said the cuts could have a severe impact on providers already operating on tight budgets.

Jackson County officials, residents start GoFundMe to help with flood damages

JACKSON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Residents in Jackson County are continuing to rebuild after severe flash flooding swept through the area, and local groups have launched a GoFundMe to cover damages that may fall outside the scope of state and federal assistance. Jackson County Emergency Management Director Jamie Strong said the county received close to 6 inches of rain within approximately three hours.

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Two people died in the basement of a building on University Drive in Richmond during Saturday’s flash flooding. They were identified as 57-year-old John Powell and 51-year-old Patricia Beck. Gov. Andy Beshear said four people died after floods swept through central Kentucky, three of them in Richmond. Patrick Cremeens said he and Powell had been best friends since high school in Madison County.
