HDAC2-Mediated SMAD7 Stabilisation Activates Wnt/β-Catenin Signalling to Drive DNA Damage Repair and Cisplatin Resistance in Ovarian Cancer
1 Introduction Ovarian cancer (OC) is one of the most lethal malignancies of the female reproductive system, with a poor prognosis primarily attributed to difficulties in early diagnosis and the development of chemotherapy resistance, particularly platinum resistance [1]. As a cornerstone drug for advanced OC, carboplatin triggers tumour cell apoptosis through DNA damage, yet the clinical onset of resistance is frequently driven by the activation of robust DNA damage repair pathways [2].

T cell-targeted immunotherapies for multiple sclerosis: molecular mechanisms to therapeutic perspectives from Traditional Chinese medicine
Abstract Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory demyelinating disorder of the central nervous system characterized by an imbalance between effector T cells (Th1/Th17) and regulatory T-cell (Treg) function. Current disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) reduce relapse frequency mainly through broad immunomodulation, but their non-specific mechanisms often lead to adverse effects and incomplete disease control, especially in progressive MS.

Friction-differentiated separation of alkali ions through two-dimensional nanochannels based on niobate perovskite
Abstract The separation of alkali ions holds profound fundamental significance and immense application potential, particularly driven by the increasing demand for lithium in the era of sustainable energy. Previous approaches relying on the static factor (e.g., size, charge, solubility, adsorption affinities) prove inadequate in the separation of alkali ions due to their highly similar physicochemical properties.

Interlayer confinement toward short hydrogen bond network construction for fast hydroxide transport
Abstract Driven by boosting demands for sustainable energy, highly conductive hydroxide exchange membranes (HEMs) are urgently required in electrochemical conversion devices. The hydrogen bonds shorter than 2.5 angstrom are expected to accelerate the ion transport. However, short hydrogen bonds (SHBs) can hardly form naturally because of the electron-withdrawing capability of O atom, which impedes its applications in water-mediated ion transport.

Promoting in-situ stability of hydroxide exchange membranes by thermally conductive network for durable water electrolysis - Nature Communications
Abstract Hydroxide exchange membrane (HEM) water electrolysis is promising for green hydrogen production due to its low cost and excellent performance. However, HEM often has insufficient stability in strong alkaline solutions, particularly under in-situ electrolysis operation conditions, hindering its commercialization. In this study, we discover that the in-situ stability of HEM is primarily impaired by the locally accumulated heat in HEM due to its low thermal conductivity.

Human Topoisomerase IIα Promotes Chromatin Condensation Via a Phase Transition
Abstract Topoisomerase II (topo II) enzymes are essential enzymes known to resolve topological entanglements during DNA processing. Curiously, while yeast expresses a single topo II, humans express two topo II isozymes, topo IIα and topo IIβ, which share a similar catalytic domain but differ in their intrinsically disordered C-terminal domains (CTDs). During mitosis, topo IIα and condensin I constitute the most abundant chromosome scaffolding proteins essential for chromosome condensation.

Visualizing the global trends of peptides in wound healing through an in‐depth bibliometric analysis
1 INTRODUCTION Wound management is a major challenge worldwide, placing a huge health and financial burden on each nation's government.1, 2 Chronic wounds, such as burns and diabetic wound healing, will lead to amputation in severe cases, and patients suffer greatly and live at risk.3, 4 Therefore, increasing attention has been paid to wound dressing development.5 However, there is still a lack of precise targeted treatments for wound healing and an urgent need to find effective strategies.6...
Chromatinization modulates topoisomerase II processivity - Nature Communications
Abstract Type IIA topoisomerases are essential DNA processing enzymes that must robustly and reliably relax DNA torsional stress. While cellular processes constantly create varying torsional stress, how this variation impacts type IIA topoisomerase function remains obscure. Using multiple single-molecule approaches, we examined the torsional dependence of eukaryotic topoisomerase II (topo II) activity on naked DNA and chromatin.
Chromatinization Modulates Topoisomerase II Processivity
Abstract Type IIA topoisomerases are essential DNA processing enzymes that must robustly and reliably relax DNA torsional stress in vivo. While cellular processes constantly create different degrees of torsional stress, how this stress feeds back to control type IIA topoisomerase function remains obscure. Using a suite of single-molecule approaches, we examined the torsional impact on supercoiling relaxation of both naked DNA and chromatin by eukaryotic topoisomerase II (topo II).

A sustainable chitosan-zinc electrolyte for high-rate zinc-metal batteries
Rechargeable aqueous Zn-metal battery is promising for grid energy storage needs, but its application is limited by issues such as Zn dendrite formation. In this work, we demonstrate a Zn-coordinated chitosan (chitosan-Zn) electrolyte for high-performance Zn-metal batteries. The chitosan-Zn electrolyte exhibits high mechanical strength, Zn2+ conductivity, and water bonding capability, which enable a desirable Zn-deposition morphology of parallel hexagonal Zn platelets.

SHED aggregate exosomes shuttled miR‐26a promote angiogenesis in pulp regeneration via TGF‐β/SMAD2/3 signalling
Abstract Objectives Pulp regeneration brings big challenges for clinicians, and vascularization is considered as its determining factor. We previously accomplished pulp regeneration with autologous stem cells from deciduous teeth (SHED) aggregates implantation in teenager patients, however, the underlying mechanism needs to be clarified for regenerating pulp in adults.
On-demand quantitative SERS bioassays facilitated by surface-tethered ratiometric probes
Reliable and user-friendly sensing of target analytes in complex biofluids is of fundamental importance to biological science and medicine. Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) has proven to be capable of detecting molecules with high sensitivity, but achieving robust quantitative detection remains a challenge mainly because of the severe signal fluctuation at electromagnetic hot spots.
