Twenty-one years ago, the first editorial in International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity (IJBNPA) [ 1] and an accompanying commentary by the founder of the International Society of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity (ISBNPA) [ 2] introduced the term behavioral nutrition and physical activity, but neither provided specific definitions of either of these terms.

3. Results The participants in this study consisted of eleven parents, six of whom had their youths participate in an interview. The eleven adult parents or caregivers (all female) and six youths, between the ages of 10 and 15 years old (83% female), participated in the AYEM-B Camp in a Box intervention in either 2020 (n = five parents), 2021 (n = two parents; n = three youths), or 2022 (n = four parents; n = three youths).

This holiday season, helping those in need is as simple as opening your refrigerator. Americans waste almost one-third of the total food supply - a staggering 133 billion pounds of edible food annually. This waste has far-reaching economic and environmental impacts – roughly translating to 2 million calories thrown away per household, the equivalent of $1,500 per year. At the same time, one in six Americans is food insecure, meaning they are without adequate access to safe and nutritious food.
