Time for fringe players to take opportunities
E VERTON might not have expected a lot from the Chelsea and Arsenal matches but a lot of the frustration came from the manner in which we lost both of them.
We went 1-0 down - then lost the FIGHT
E VERTON losing to Chelsea was our first defeat of the season but it was more the manner of it that really hurt and really frustrated me.
Lack of backing for boss Moyes makes sense now – but next owners have to be in it for the LONG haul
FRIEDKIN ABSENCE WAS A RED FLAG FOR BLUES A LL was pretty quiet on the Everton front until the big news broke on Friday that our owners The Friedkin Group...
Everton's season so far has been a good one and two individuals are growing
Everton's season so far has been a good one and two individuals are growing -Credit:Reach Publishing Services Limited The first international break of the season provides a good opportunity to reflect on the campaign so far - and it has been a good start for Everton.
Stubborn Everton refused to self-destruct after 'tough' break and now Europe hopes are stronger
Having three weeks off as a player is tough. You have to try and stay fresh to make sure you hit the ground running when you return, but the break disrupts your momentum and that can be a challenge. We saw that early in the Brentford game. Against Chelsea, Everton broke up for the international break with a fine win built on intensity. That was gone in the early stages at the Gtech. The Blues were slow to get going, they looked a bit lethargic and were caught out for the first goal.
David Moyes deal can wait as Everton need transfer change this summer
There’s been a few reports in recent times about a new deal for Everton manager David Moyes. It’s a no-brainer for him to get a new contract but we just want to get the job done on the pitch and I’m sure he’ll want those talks to happen in the summer. If we do qualify for Europe then you’d be looking to get him tied down because what he’s done since he returned to the football club has been fantastic. It’s often said in football that you shouldn’t go back, but he’s proving that wrong.
I like the idea of honouring Neville Southall at Everton's Hill Dickinson Stadium in a different way
Chris Beesley & Michael Ball I'm fully behind what seems to be a growing campaign for Everton to build a statue of Neville Southall at Hill Dickinson Stadium. I idolised Nev growing up when he was the best goalkeeper in the world and then I was fortunate enough to become one of his team-mates in his final seasons with the Blues. The subject was a talking point when Everton were preparing to move to the new stadium.
I can understand David Moyes' line-up - but it should be a wake-up call for one Everton man
Chris Beesley & Michael Ball Coming away from Hill Dickinson Stadium, I felt it wasn't a poor performance but once again, Everton have not got the result we wanted in a home game. David Moyes will probably get criticised for picking what seemed like a negative line-up, but I can understand why he went that way. I was umming and ahing myself before the game over whether a natural right-back like Nathan Patterson should be picked.
This is what Everton need to do to improve their form at Hill Dickinson Stadium
Joe Thomas & Michael Ball Everton's home form has been frustrating of late but what gives me hope that could change is the awareness David Moyes and his players appear to have of what has been going wrong. The draw against Leeds United last time out at Hill Dickinson Stadium was frustrating, but the second half did see an improvement and, with Karl Darlow's save from Thierno Barry and Idrissa Gueye hitting the crossbar, there were opportunities for one point to have become three.
What David Moyes did with Harrison Armstrong spoke volumes about Everton starlet
Michael Ball Harrison Armstrong's future has been the subject of so much debate this season. At the start of the campaign whether or not to allow him out on loan was a dilemma that continued right until the final hours of the summer transfer window. Then over Christmas the question was whether or not to bring him back from Preston North End.
I've been in Harrison Armstrong's position - Everton must make a big decision
Chris Beesley & Michael Ball While coming in under difficult circumstances at Everton, Harrison Armstrong has been a massive success this month. There were question marks over whether to bring him back from Preston because was that going to hamper his development and would he get the game time? Credit to David Moyes , he's not just left him on the bench, he's given Harrison the opportunities to go out there and he's taken them fantastically well.
What really worried me about how Everton's weaknesses were exposed by Brentford
Joe Thomas & Michael Ball Like a lot of us, I went to Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday afternoon full of hope. The win at Nottingham Forest in midweek was an impressive one given the number of players David Moyes was missing. The togetherness of those players still available was clear to see on the pitch and, as a unit, they pulled off a good win that set Everton up for a big week of home fixtures. Like a lot of us, then, I left the new ground on Sunday night feeling frustrated and disappointed .
Time for Tyler Dibling to be unleashed as Everton look for fresh burst of magic
Joe Thomas & Michael Ball Everton have started a tough period and how they deal with the coming weeks will be interesting to see. This last swathe of games looked difficult once the fixtures came out, with trips to the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Bournemouth around home games against Arsenal and Newcastle United. As it happens, Everton have done well.
End of an era at Everton and news hit me hard but farewell party will be an absolute banger
Chris Beesley & Michael Ball The news that the Winslow Hotel is closing hit me hard after the positives of Everton's 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest. Unfortunately, there was an air of inevitability about it following the team's move from Goodison Park as the pubs in the surrounding area probably would suffer and it would be difficult with business. Everyone has been finding their new ways and matchday routines going to Hill Dickinson Stadium .

Cop: Paris goals remain elusive
Belem, 7 November (Argus) — A decade after the birth of the Paris climate agreement, most countries still hail it as a landmark. But they also agree that to meet the agreement’s goals, countries still need to implement much of what they committed to do 10 years ago. That seems to be the sentiment, heading into the 10 November start of the Cop 30 UN climate summit in Belem, Brazil.
US not sending ‘high level’ officials to Cop 30
Washington, 3 November (Argus) — The US will not send any “high level” officials to this year’s UN Cop 30 climate summit in Brazil, according to a White House official. Instead, President Donald Trump is engaging directly with world leaders on energy issues, the official said, citing his “historic” trade deals that have a “significant focus” on energy partnerships.

Can the Labor Board Finally Get to Work? | JD Supra
On June 16, 2025 President Trump announced two key nominations to the National Labor Relations Board: Scott Mayer and James Murphy. If confirmed, Mayer and Murphy will join Chairman Marvin Kaplan (Republican; term ends 8/27/25) and Member David Prouty (Democrat), restoring quorum to the agency after months of recurring vacancies and uncertainty. Given the Senate’s Republican-led majority, both nominations are likely to be confirmed. Either way, it seems Trump is ready to get the Board back to work.

Cop: Fossil fuels in globlal stocktake draft: Update

But the three options currently on the table show that parties remain critically divided on the issue.
Cop: Israel eager to tap Paris carbon market
Israel is aiming to take advantage of its "unique" solutions in a global carbon market developing under the Paris Agreement. The country has many companies that are developing technologies to store carbon or avoid emissions in various ways, from turning garbage into plastic to forms of direct air capture, all which could generate carbon credits. Other companies have also developed new methods for measuring carbon sequestration.
Cop: Brazil's Lula urges 'daring' action on climate
Countries need to undertake "more daring" action to address climate change in the next few years or will fall short of the goals of the Paris climate agreement, Brazil's president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said on 1 December. Lula used a pair of speeches at the Cop 28 UN climate talks in Dubai today to criticise the state of global climate efforts, including the lack of ambition by many countries and what he said were the broken promises of assistance from developed nations.
I know how a takeover can impact players - 777 Partners face clear next step to boost Everton dressing room
There has been a lot of noise at Everton and when you get a win you forget about what’s happening upstairs. I’ve been at clubs that have been taken over before. At Manchester City, the Thailand Prime Minister (Thaksin Shinawatra) took over and we were in a difficult place at that time. We didn’t know what was going on with the finances but when the owner came in and spoke to the players and the manager, he told us what he wanted and his ambition.
