@magnayn @dange82 @25deadbatts @bengoldacre But they would need to notify the customer if they were profiling them based on data someone else put in the public domain without the customer's consent. Main problem in Ben's suggestion is the word 'quietly'. Could possibly be done 'transparently'.
@magnayn @dange82 @25deadbatts @bengoldacre That's one reason why the idea proposed is a bad one. My point is if an insurer is adjusting a customer's premium based on a number plate's appearance on Twitter, they're linking it with an individual policyholder - hence it's personal data.
