OPINION — Technological progress has always and will always come at the expense of natural beauty. Unless society decides to exist only on sustainable resources, we can look forward to the continued destruction of non-renewable materials. What would that look like? Picture loin cloths, bows and arrows and hand-made stone tools. Every convenience humans have enjoyed since the discovery of fire has come at a cost.
