Former Alabama football coach Nick Saban wrote a letter to a Florida judge supporting former Tide cornerback Terrion Arnold as a character reference. Arnold was released Monday by the Detroit Lions, hours after he was granted $1 million bond in a court hearing. The 2024 first-round pick was arrested last week on felony charges that include kidnapping and armed robbery stemming from a February incident in which multiple others were arrested.

College Football Hall of Fame player sues NCAA in Alabama court over brain disease

Former Navy safety Chet Moeller sued the NCAA in Alabama court last week, accusing the organization of fraud and negligence relating to concussions he suffered as a player and a subsequent diagnosis in 2024 of possible neurodegenerative brain disease. Moeller, who played for Navy from 1972-76, was a unanimous All-American in 1975 and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2010. His jersey number is retired by the Midshipmen.
