Identification of serum 5’tRF-Val as a promising non-invasive biomarker for early detection of esophageal cancer
Abstract Esophageal cancer (EC) is frequently detected at an advanced stage because of the lack of effective noninvasive screening tools, leading to poor prognosis. This study aimed to identify serum transfer RNA-derived small RNA (tsRNA) biomarkers for early detection of EC. Candidate tsRNAs were screened using the tsRFun database, and a quantitative real-time PCR (qRT‒PCR) method for serum 5’tRF-Val was subsequently established and validated.
A phase II peri-operative study of pembrolizumab plus lenvatinib for mucosal melanoma
|
Abstract Mucosal melanoma is an aggressive malignancy with limited neoadjuvant options. We conducted a single arm, phase II study of neoadjuvant pembrolizumab plus lenvatinib followed by surgery and adjuvant pembrolizumab in resectable mucosal melanoma (NCT04622566) along with exploratory biomarker analysis.

Targeting metabolic-epigenetic-immune axis in cancer: molecular mechanisms and therapeutic implications - Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy
Abstract Cancer cells orchestrate a highly dynamic and interconnected network spanning metabolic, epigenetic, and immune mechanisms to drive adaptive plasticity and continuous development. This review synthesizes emerging insights into the coevolutionary strategies employed by malignant and stromal cells—particularly tumor cells and immune populations—across the continuum of tumorigenesis, metastasis, and treatment resistance.

Treating myocardial infarction via a nano-ultrasonic contrast agent-mediated high-efficiency drug delivery system targeting macrophages
Research Article APPLIED SCIENCES AND ENGINEERING INTRODUCTION Ischemic heart disease remains a leading cause of mortality and disability worldwide, affecting approximately 126 million people globally (1, 2). Myocardial infarction (MI) is the most severe form of ischemic heart disease (3). Now, adverse ventricular remodeling and heart failure following MI continue to be the primary contributors to patient mortality (4).

Overparenting and romantic relationships in emerging adulthood: Roles of relationship efficacy and parent-child relationship quality
Objective Guided by the theory of emerging adulthood and social cognitive theory, we investigated whether overparenting was associated with romantic relationship quality among emerging adults through relationship efficacy and dependent on parent–child relationship quality. Background Establishing healthy and lasting intimate relationships is one of the primary developmental tasks during emerging adulthood.

Discrepancies in Perceived Indulgent Parenting, Relationship Satisfaction, and Psychological Well-Being of Adolescents and Parents
1. Introduction Adolescence is a critical developmental stage when many changes happen, which could be challenging for both adolescents and their parents. As children become adolescents, they face changes brought on by the process of puberty, increasing academic demands, and growing social pressure. Lerner and Steinberg [1] suggest that these challenges, though accompanied by opportunities, could lead to psychological well-being problems among adolescents.

Cyst fluid glycoproteins accurately distinguishing malignancies of pancreatic cystic neoplasm - Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy
Abstract Pancreatic cystic neoplasms (PCNs) are recognized as precursor lesions of pancreatic cancer, with a marked increase in prevalence. Early detection of malignant PCNs is crucial for improving prognosis; however, current diagnostic methods are insufficient for accurately identifying malignant PCNs. Here, we utilized mass spectrometry (MS)-based glycosite- and glycoform-specific glycoproteomics, combined with proteomics, to explore potential cyst fluid diagnostic biomarkers for PCN.

Indulgent Parenting and the Psychological Well-Being of Adolescents and Their Parents
Abstract : Adolescence is a time for identity development and exploration. Indulgent parenting during adolescence could be developmentally inappropriate and could be associated with adolescent psychological well-being problems. Little research on indulgent parenting, however, has included and investigated both adolescent and parental well-being problems.
Patterns of indulgent parenting and adolescents' psychological development
Objective In this study, researchers aimed to extend the current literature by examining the patterns of indulgent parenting of both mothers and fathers and their associations with adolescents' basic psychological needs satisfaction, self-control, and self-efficacy. Background Indulgent parenting could be harmful for the development of psychological needs satisfaction and cognitive abilities when adolescents seek autonomy and gain emotional regulatory skills.
Overparenting and psychological well‐being of emerging adult children in the United States and China
Objective This study aimed to investigate (a) the association between overparenting and emerging-adult children's psychological maladjustment through basic psychological needs satisfaction (autonomy, competence, and relatedness) and (b) whether the associations, particularly the associations between overparenting and needs satisfaction, vary by cultures. Background Research in Western countries suggests that overparenting may undermine emerging-adult children's psychological well-being.
Copper‐Catalyzed Highly Enantioselective Addition of a Silicon Nucleophile to 3‐Substituted 2H‐Azirines Using an Si−B Reagent
Dedicated to Professor Douglas W. Stephan on the occasion of his 70th birthday Graphical Abstract The first catalytic asymmetric synthesis of C-silylated, unprotected aziridines has been accomplished. Using a silyl boronic ester as a latent silicon nucleophile, a chiral copper catalyst enables its addition of 3-substituted 2H-azirines in high yields and with excellent enantioselectivities.

Portal Venous Gas
A 72-year-old man presented to the emergency department with an 11-hour history of periumbilical abdominal pain and inability to pass flatus. His medical history included chronic lymphocytic leukemia (for which he had been taking ibrutinib), type 2 diabetes, and chronic hepatitis B virus infection. The pulse was 155 beats per minute, and the blood pressure 83/52 mm Hg. On physical examination, his abdomen was diffusely tender, with the most severe pain in the right upper quadrant.

Tumor size classification of the 8th edition of TNM staging system is superior to that of the 7th edition in predicting the survival outcome of pancreatic cancer patients after radical resection and adjuvant chemotherapy
Since the 1st edition of the TNM staging system was published in 1977, the AJCC/UICC has released a total of eight editions. During the last 40 years, considerable improvements have been achieved in many malignancies, such as melanoma, gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, breast cancer and lung cancer. However, despite tremendous efforts, a diagnosis of PDAC remains devastating15,16,17,18. There has not been any change in the TNM staging system for PDAC in the last three editions.
