Climate change threatens malaria elimination in the Asia Pacific
Abstract Climate change threatens decades of progress toward malaria elimination across the Asia Pacific. In recent years, reported cases have increased sharply in several regions, including Pakistan following the 2022 floods. However, current research and adaptation strategies have largely focused on gradual warming and shifting transmission seasons and may not fully capture acute operational disruptions in endemic settings.
Sequential CLAGE-Ven (cladribine, cytarabine, etoposide, and venetoclax) with reduced-intensity conditioning improves outcomes in patients with refractory acute myeloid leukemia: a prospective phase II study
To the editor, Allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) remains the only curative option for patients with relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia (R/R-AML). However, outcomes for patients entering transplant with active disease are poor.
The Lessons of the Long Confucian Peace
For decades, scholars and politicians have marveled at the fact that democracies do not fight one another. “The absence of war between democracies comes as close as anything we have to an empirical law in international relations,” wrote the political scientist Jack Levy in 1988. “Democracies don't attack each other. They make better trading partners and partners in diplomacy,” U.S. President Bill Clinton declared in 1994.
Pregnancy experiences of expectant parents with Neurofibromatosis type 1: a qualitative interview study
Abstract Pregnancy in the context of Neurofibromatosis 1 (NF1) may be emotionally complex due to uncertainties surrounding inheritance and the condition’s variable presentation. This study aimed to explore how expectant parents with NF1 experience pregnancy and relate to their unborn child. Fourteen participants took part in individual semi-structured interviews, and data were analysed using reflexive thematic analysis.

1,5-Diiodocycloctane: a cyclane solvent additive can extend exciton diffusion length in thick film organic solar cells
1,5-Diiodocycloctane: a cyclane solvent additive can extend exciton diffusion length in thick film organic solar cells The short exciton diffusion length associated with most state-of-art organic semiconductors used in organic solar cells (OSCs) imposes severe limits on the exciton transport in the larger donor/acceptor domains and the exciton dissociation at the interface, which hinders further improvements in power conversion efficiencies (PCE) in the thick-film devices.

Children | Free Full-Text | Supporting Depressed Mothers of Young Children with Intellectual Disability: Feasibility of an Integrated Parenting Intervention in a Low-Income Setting
1. Introduction Intellectual disability (ID) is a generalised neurodevelopmental disorder that places a heavy burden of disease on low and middle-income countries (LMICs) and has become a public health priority due to its nature of being a lifelong condition and its impact on families [1]. The global prevalence of ID is 3.2%; however, South Asia has the highest prevalence at 6.0% [2]. The incidence of ID in Pakistan is 1.1 per 100 live births [3].

Turning the Tables: China Gaining Influence in the International Human Rights Regime
China is gaining influence in the international human rights arena and is reshaping the global understanding of human rights. China’s greater influence enables and inspires other authoritarian governments and constitutes a serious challenge to the US-led liberal international order. For someone like myself who has followed China’s human rights diplomacy since the early 1990s, the recent turn of events is shocking.
