Beyond Pressure Pain Thresholds: Making Exercise-Induced Hypoalgesia Actionable in Knee Osteoarthritis
Dear Editor, We read with great interest the double-blind randomized trial by Toomey and colleagues, which examined whether targeted pre-exercise education can enhance exercise-induced hypoalgesia in knee osteoarthritis [1]. Its findings are valuable because they separate a change in belief from a group-level change in experimental and patient-reported pain.
Comparative efficacy of exercise and nutritional interventions on serum IGF-1 levels in older adults with frailty and/or sarcopenia: A systematic review and network meta-analysis
ABSTRACT To compare and rank exercise, nutritional supplementation, and combined interventions on serum insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) in older adults with sarcopenia and/or frailty. We searched English (Web of Science, Cochrane, PubMed, EMBASE, Scopus) and Chinese (CNKI, Wanfang) databases for randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Interventions were categorized as Control, Nutrition, Aerobic Training (AT), Resistance Training (RT), Combined Training (CT), RT+Nutrition, and CT+Nutrition.
Spatial omics of neuroinflammation: insights across brain diseases
Abstract Neuroinflammation is a common pathological feature of diverse brain diseases, but inflammatory activity is rarely distributed uniformly across diseased tissue. Instead, microglia, astrocytes, infiltrating immune cells and inflammatory mediators are often organized around specific pathological structures, including amyloid plaques, demyelinated lesion rims, ischemic borders, necrotic tumor regions and perivascular white matter compartments.
HIF-associated progression-prone state precedes relapse and nominates STEAP2 as a candidate vulnerability in resected NSCLC
Abstract Metastatic relapse after curative-intent resection suggests that dissemination-associated programs may precede clinically detectable spread. We integrated clinical stratification with whole-exome sequencing, bulk transcriptomics, proteomics, single-cell transcriptomics and digital pathomics in a lung adenocarcinoma-predominant non-small cell lung cancer cohort.

Mantle deformation records fossil convergent upwelling at Perm Anomaly
Abstract How low-velocity anomalies in the lower mantle influence convective flow, and their broader role in mantle dynamics, remain a topic of ongoing debate. One such anomaly, located roughly beneath the Russian city of Perm, is exceptionally well sampled by core-traversing seismic phases. We investigate seismic anisotropy, propagation- and polarization direction-dependent seismic wave speeds caused by deformation, within and around the Perm Anomaly at a sharp lateral resolution.

Effects of Robot’s Face Ratio and Eye Shape on Users’ Perceived Trustworthiness, and Neural Activity: An Event-Related Potential Study
Abstract This study examines how two facial attributes of robots—the facial width-to-height ratio (fWHR) and eye shape—influence users’ judgments of trustworthiness, and how these features are processed at the neural level. To achieve this goal, we conducted a within-subject Electroencephalogram (EEG) experiment using a 2 (fWHR: low/high) × 3 (eye shape: round/rectangular/obround) full factorial design. EEG signals were analyzed using event-related potentials (ERPs).

Targeting the Hh and Hippo pathways by miR‐7 suppresses the development of insect wings
Introduction Insects, as the only group of winged invertebrates, have evolved wings as a crucial adaptation that lies at the core of their ecological success (Chin & Lentink, 2016; Zhang et al., 2019). Wings serve as essential organs for insects, enabling them to forage, seek hosts, mate, lay eggs, and avoid toxic substances, ultimately contributing to their widespread abundance and distribution across the globe (Niwa et al., 2010; Condamine et al., 2016; Zhang et al., 2019).

Detections of ultralow velocity zones in high-velocity lowermost mantle linked to subducted slabs - Nature Geoscience
Abstract Ultralow velocity zones revealed by seismological observations at the core–mantle boundary lend clues to the physico-chemical characteristics and dynamic evolution of the Earth’s deep interior. Ultralow velocity zones have been primarily detected within and at the edges of the large low-velocity provinces. Ultralow velocity zones in high-velocity lowermost mantle have also been reported, but global assessment has been limited by data coverage.

Moon-forming impactor as a source of Earth’s basal mantle anomalies - Nature
Abstract Seismic images of Earth’s interior have revealed two continent-sized anomalies with low seismic velocities, known as the large low-velocity provinces (LLVPs), in the lowermost mantle1. The LLVPs are often interpreted as intrinsically dense heterogeneities that are compositionally distinct from the surrounding mantle2. Here we show that LLVPs may represent buried relics of Theia mantle material (TMM) that was preserved in proto-Earth’s mantle after the Moon-forming giant impact3.
