Adaptive personalization for wearable non-invasive continuous glucose sensors
Abstract Accurate continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) is essential for diabetes management, yet non-invasive CGM remains challenging. Universal “one-sensor-fits-all” approaches often fail, because correlations between non-invasive physiological readouts and blood glucose (BG) are highly individualized.

The genetic spectrum of LRRK2 variants in Parkinson’s disease: findings from a large Chinese cohort
|
Abstract The pathogenicity of variants of uncertain significance in the LRRK2 gene remains underexplored. Investigating the LRRK2 variant spectrum in a large Chinese population cohort can provide deeper insights into its pathogenic mechanisms. This study examined the LRRK2 gene variants in 20,519 Chinese individuals, including 7,562 Parkinson’s disease (PD) patients, 3,077 Essential tremor (ET) patients, and 9880 healthy controls.

Prevalence and Impact of Probable REM Sleep Behavior Disorder in Essential Tremor: A Multicenter Cross‐Sectional Study
1 Introduction Essential tremor (ET) is a common movement disorder characterized predominantly by a mildly asymmetric action tremor of the upper limbs occurring at a frequency of 4–12 Hz, with or without tremors affecting the head, voice, trunk, and/or lower limbs [1]. The prevalence of ET is approximately 1.33% in the general population, increasing to approximately 5.79% among individuals aged 65 years or older [2].
Artificial intelligence-enabled “inherited noninvasive intracellular recording” for prolonged monitoring of cardiac action potentials
Abstract Intracellular action potential (AP) recording that allows long-term monitoring is challenging because permanent membrane penetration is impossible due to cell death or resealing of perforated cell membrane. Herein, an “inherited noninvasive intracellular recording” methodology was proposed, which was based on the fusion of artificial intelligence (AI) with microelectrode array (MEA)–electroporation system (AI-MEA-EP) to enable prolonged monitoring of intracellular APs in cardiomyocytes.

Engineering natural killer cells for cancer immunotherapy
Keywords cell engineering NK cell cancer immunotherapy Introduction Natural killer (NK) cells play a crucial role in the immune system, acting as the first line of defense against cancer.1 Unlike other immune cells, such as dendritic cells, macrophages, and T-lymphocytes, NK cells can recognize and destroy malignant cells without prior exposure to specific antigens.2,3 Research has demonstrated that a single NK cell can eliminate more than 10 tumor cells within 6 h, indicating their...
Interwoven DNA-MOF crystals for multi-millennial data storage
Abstract DNA has emerged as a promising medium for high-density and energy-efficient data storage, providing a promising solution to capacity constraints and energy demands resulting from the exponential growth of data. Long-term stable storage of DNA data in ambient conditions is a critical requirement for its practical application. Whereas strategies have been proposed to protect DNA from environmental degradation, they are often at the expense of data storage density.

Nonmotor Symptoms Differ Between Essential Tremor and Tremor‐Dominant Parkinson's Disease
1 Introduction Essential tremor (ET) and Parkinson's disease (PD) are common movement disorders whose prevalence increases with age, affecting approximately 4.6% and 1.8% of the population over 65 years old, respectively (de Rijk et al. 2000; Louis 2023; Pringsheim et al. 2014; Welton et al. 2021). ET is primarily characterized by action tremor of the upper limbs (Shanker 2019), while resting tremor is more common in PD patients (Balestrino and Schapira 2020).

Construction of functional surfaces for dental implants to enhance osseointegration
1 Introduction Due to the tumor recession, injuries, periodontitis, and the aging of population, the defect or loss of dentition has been a common problem in the world, which has greatly affected the daily life of vast numbers of patients (Gulati et al., 2023). Over the past 50 years, implant dentistry has evolved into a highly reliable choice for replacing lost teeth (Buser et al., 2017).

Fortunately, skin shows a good ability of self-healing if the damages are not serious (Lee et al., 2022). The self-healing of wounds is a complex process, which includes the hemostatic phase, inflammatory phase, proliferative phase, and remodeling phase (Zhao et al., 2019).

Bevacizumab-loaded CalliSpheres beads: in vitro loading, release profiles and application in rabbit liver VX2 tumor model
Background Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the sixth most common tumor, and the tumor mortality rate ranks third worldwide (1). However, almost 2 to 3 of HCC patients lost the opportunity to receive surgical resection when diagnosed. Thus, transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) has become the standard treatment for advanced HCC (2).

Programming Super DNA‐Enzyme Molecules for On‐Demand Enzyme Activity Modulation**
Graphical Abstract Enzyme cascades in the free state are random and uncontrolled. We constructed a super DNA-enzymes molecule (SDEM) to make programmable and controlled cascades by toehold-mediated DNA strand displacement. The SDEMs can be made sensitive to different substrates on demand via an entropically driven catalytic assembly. Abstract Dynamic interactions of enzymes, including programmable configuration and cycling of enzymes, play important roles in the regulation of cellular metabolism.

Possible absence of critical thickness and size effect in ultrathin perovskite ferroelectric films
The thicknesses-dependent polarization is summarized in Fig. 4a. Approximately, there are three regions: stable polarization zone I with film thickness ?10-unit cells, progressive decayed polarization zone II between 10 and 3-unit cells, and weak polarization zone III with film thickness ?3-unit cells. The polarization is upward in PZT on STO but downward with the SRO bottom electrode. As the thickness decreases, the magnitude of polarization is reduced.
