Spermidine attenuates copper overload-induced cuproptosis in porcine granulosa cells through the miR-194a-5p/DLAT axis
Abstract Excess copper disrupts mitochondrial metabolism by triggering cuproptosis, a regulated cell-death program characterized by the aggregation of lipoylated tricarboxylic acid cycle proteins and the loss of Fe-S cluster proteins. This mitochondrial injury may be particularly consequential in atretic follicle granulosa cells (GCs), whose energy metabolism and biosynthetic activity sustain follicular growth.

Abstract As delayed childbearing becomes increasingly common, elucidating the mechanisms of age-related placental senescence is critical for the development of effective therapeutic strategies. Here, we integrate metabolomics, single-cell RNA sequencing, and spatial transcriptomics to uncover conserved features of aged placentas in humans, mice, and pigs, namely, increased macrophage CD38 expression and NAD⁺ deficiency.

NEK8 kinase-mediated lactate increase impairs antitumor immunity decreasing radiotherapy sensitivity in colorectal cancer
Abstract Radiotherapy effectively treats colorectal cancer (CRC), but local recurrence remains common and abscopal effects—regression of tumors distant from irradiated sites—are rarely observed even with immune checkpoint inhibitors. Here we show that the protein kinase NEK8, highly expressed in CRC, promotes radioresistance by suppressing anti-tumor immunity. In radiation-resistant tumors, NEK8 phosphorylates lactate dehydrogenase A (LDHA), driving lactate overproduction.

Calculation Conditions We used the developed thermodynamic simulation system for bottom-blowing lead oxidation smelting to calculate the equilibrium product composition for a lead smelter in China. We used their average operating parameters from December 2021 to February 2022 as the calculating conditions.
