Officer injured, man in custody after multi-city police chase

A Florence man is in custody in St. Clair County, after a police chase spanned multiple cities and injured an officer in Rainbow City in Etowah County. According to the Rainbow City Police Department, the chase began in their jurisdiction around 4:10 p.m. Saturday, when the driver entered city limits on Highway 411 from St. Clair County in a stolen vehicle. They believe the driver was reaching speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour.
