The highly anticipated North America’s 50 Best Bars 2026 list was unveiled at a live awards ceremony held at the Vancouver Convention Centre, bringing together some of the most influential names in the drinks and hospitality world. I was lucky enough to get an invite! It’s my second year in a row attending this event, and I look forward to it every year.

Affordable luxury vacations are not an oxymoron—they do exist and I’m going to prove it to you. I firmly believe luxury travel doesn’t have to mean maxing out your credit card or spending five figures on a getaway. Sometimes, luxury is simply giving yourself permission to slow down, sleep in, enjoy incredible food, book the ocean-view room, or finally say yes to that spa treatment without guilt. And honestly? After the last few years, I think we all deserve a little more of that.

What was your first job as a journalist?

While attending Simon Fraser University, I was a staff writer at the SFU newspaper, The Peak.

How is social media changing news?

Social Media has conditioned people to expect news immediately. Gone are the days of sharing updates about something new a week later.

Why did you become a journalist?

My father was a high school teacher and freelance writer for our local city newspaper. I alwsys knew I wanted to follow in his footsteps.
