Red Cross to begin Quilts for Veterans project

NORTH DAKOTA (KXNET) — The “Quilts for Veterans” project will continue through the American Red Cross once again. Gate City Bank has partnered with the Red Cross to care for and comfort veterans through quilts. Starting on Thursday, September 11, and going until Tuesday, November 11, quiltmakers can bring quilts to any Gate City Bank location. Later, the quilts will be distributed to VA hospitals, homes, and stand-down events across the state.

Synthetic turf expands to more Mandan baseball fields

MANDAN, ND (KXNET) — The next phase of improvements at the Mandan Baseball Complex has been announced by the Mandan Baseball Club and Mandan Parks and Recreation. After the successful upgrades on Diamonds 9 and 10, synthetic turf will now be added to Diamonds 11 and 12 in late summer of 2026. The partnership and project were approved at the Mandan Park Board meeting in September. This will help reinforce the community’s long-term investment in higher-quality recreational facilities.
