Association between long-term ambient air pollution and incident inflammatory bowel disease across levels of adherence to a plant-based diet: a prospective cohort study in the UK Biobank
Abstract Background: Ambient air pollution is a potential environmental risk factor for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), whereas a plant-based diet may be protective. However, whether such a dietary pattern modifies the association between long-term air pollution exposure and IBD risk remains unclear. Methods: This prospective cohort study included 165,722 participants from the UK Biobank. Annual average concentrations of ambient air pollutants were estimated using air dispersion models.
Neuroligin1 in CCK-interneurons gates social memory formation via a disinhibitory microcircuit in the hippocampal CA2 in male mice
Abstract Social memory is essential for daily life, and its impairment is associated with psychiatric disorders. The dorsal CA2 (dCA2) region of the hippocampus is known to support social memory formation, yet how it processes social information remains unclear. Here we show that, in male mice, a specific group of dCA2 neurons—cholecystokinin-positive interneurons (CCK-INs)—acts as a hub that receives social cues and activates dCA2 pyramidal neurons (PyNs).
Genomic Analysis and Population Divergence Driven by Geographic Isolation in Neotetracus sinensis
1 Introduction Mountain ecosystems, with their complex topography, steep climatic gradients, and mosaic habitats, are among the most important drivers of biodiversity and diversification. The Hengduan Mountains of southwestern China exemplify this phenomenon, as they are characterized by deeply dissected valleys and serrated ridgelines and harbor exceptionally high levels of species richness and endemism (Gong et al. 2001).

The development of novel AIE-active staurosporine-based fluorescent probes with theranostic potential The research on the photophysical properties and structure–activity relationships of staurosporine derivatives is highly meaningful to develop staurosporine as a new type of anticancer therapeutic.
Polydopamine-mediated hydrogen bond network promotes hole extraction in BiVO4 photoanodes for efficient photoelectrochemical water oxidation
Polydopamine-mediated hydrogen bond network promotes hole extraction in BiVO4 photoanodes for efficient photoelectrochemical water oxidation Efficient migration of photogenerated holes is a critical factor influencing the photoelectrochemical water oxidation performance of BiVO4. Herein, the hole transport capacity of BiVO4 photoanodes were significantly enhanced by introducing a natural bio-polymer, polydopamine (PDA), as a hole transport layer (HTL).

Genetically-encoded markers for confocal visualization of single dense core vesicles - Communications Biology
Abstract Neuronal dense core vesicles (DCVs) store and release a diverse array of neuromodulators, trophic factors, and bioamines. The analysis of single DCVs has largely been possible only using electron microscopy, which makes understanding cargo segregation and DCV heterogeneity difficult.
Magnetic Field Enhances Interfacial Electron Redistribution to Promote Magnetoelectrocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution
Magnetic Field Enhances Interfacial Electron Redistribution to Promote Magnetoelectrocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution The rational design of efficient and cost-effective electrocatalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) presents significant challenges. Enhancing the overall performance of electrocatalytic reactions mainly focuses on optimizing catalytic materials and structures. Furthermore, the implementation of external magnetic fields may also effectively stimulate electron transportation.

Design, Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of Novel PEG-Rakicidin B1 Hybrid as Clostridium difficile (CD) Targeted Anti-Bacterial Agent
2. Results 2.1. Chemistry The synthetic route of the target compound FIMP2 was illustrated in Scheme 1; the key intermediate (Z-01) was synthesized from Rakicidin B1 by treatment with 4-(chloromethyl) benzoyl chloride in a pyridine solution at −5 °C for 0.5 h, and then subsequently reacted with sodium azide under KI as a catalyst to afford the key intermediate compound Z-02 as white powder.
Widespread posttranscriptional regulation of cotransmission
Abstract While neurotransmitter identity was once considered singular and immutable for mature neurons, it is now appreciated that one neuron can release multiple neuroactive substances (cotransmission) whose identities can even change over time. To explore the mechanisms that tune the suite of transmitters a neuron releases, we developed transcriptional and translational reporters for cholinergic, glutamatergic, and GABAergic signaling in Drosophila.
New Insights into the Role and Therapeutic Potential of Heat Shock Protein 70 in Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus Infection
Abstract : Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV), a positive-strand RNA virus of the genus Pestivirus in the Flaviviridae family, is the causative agent of bovine viral diarrhea–mucosal disease (BVD-MD). BVDV’s unique virion structure, genome, and replication mechanism in the Flaviviridae family render it a useful alternative model for evaluating the effectiveness of antiviral drugs used against the hepatitis C virus (HCV).

Local translation provides the asymmetric distribution of CaMKII required for associative memory formation
How compartment-specific local proteomes are generated and maintained is inadequately understood, particularly in neurons, which display extreme asymmetries. Here we show that local enrichment of Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII) in axons of Drosophila mushroom body neurons is necessary for cellular plasticity and associative memory formation.

Measurement and Correlation of Phase Equilibria for Isobutyl Acetate + {Ethanol or Methanol} + Water at 303.15 and 323.15 K
The phase equilibrium data for the ternary systems isobutyl acetate + {ethanol or methanol} + water were determined at temperatures of 303.15 and 323.15 K, and pressure of 101.3 kPa. Both Hand and Bachman methods were used to evaluate the validity of the experimental data in the present work.
