Westfield firefighters quickly contain Monday night fire at Mestek

WESTFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -- No injuries were reported after a fire at Mestek in Westfield. Westfield firefighters arrived on-scene shortly after 8 p.m. Monday and saw smoke and fire coming from an office space in the middle of the building. Crews were able to contain and extinguish the fire quickly. Investigators said Tuesday the fire was caused from combustible materials being too close to a heating unit.

Our crew reported seeing multiple fire trucks, along with an ambulance and police cruisers, at the scene. Traffic light knocked down in early morning Springfield crash

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -- Emergency crews responded to a crash early Monday morning in Springfield. When our crew arrived at the scene on Longhill Street around 1:30 a.m., at least one car could be seen involved in the accident, which also appeared to have taken out a traffic light. There was significant damage to the front of the vehicle and at least three police cruisers responded to the crash.
