It's been weeks since the torrential downpour caused flash-flooding in Ottawa, ruining thousands of basements and forcing the city to provide a lot of support to residents. At Wednesday's council meeting, city officials approved more help to support affected residents, as many are still cleaning up from the historic and devastating Canada Day storm.

19-year-old killed in serious crash in Ottawa Valley

An Ottawa teen was killed after two vehicles collided on a rural highway just north of the Town of Renfrew. The crash happened around 6: 39 a.m. on Friday. Ontario Provincial Police from the Renfrew detachment were the first to arrive, where they saw the two vehicles heavily damaged on Highway 17. A 19-year-old from Ottawa was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police asking public to look out for this Halifax man

RCMP are asking members of the public to keep an eye out for a 51-year-old man who is wanted by police. In a press release, Halifax Mounties said they are looking for information on the whereabouts of Robert MacDonald, who is wanted across the province. The accused is facing charges of failing to comply with an undertaking and failing to comply with a release order. He is 5'7″, about 150 pounds and has brown hair and a greying beard.

Why did you become a journalist?

In truth because I love talking. What I have found is passion and drive to tell stories.
