BISMARCK, N.D. (KXNET) — For more than 6 decades, one small town has been celebrating and keeping North Dakota’s agricultural heritage alive. And this weekend, folks can expect to see a mix of longtime traditions and new attractions at the 66th Annual Makoti Threshing Show. This Friday and Saturday the Threshing Show will feature antique tractor and equipment parades threshing and sawmill demonstrations, a John Deere slow race, food vendors, and hundreds of operating antique machines.

BISMARCK, N.D. (KXNET) — All weekend long people around North Dakota celebrated Independence Day in one way or another — especially in Medora. Earlier last week, governor Kelly Armstrong welcomed people in the capital city to help ‘ring in’ what was a busy week. The governor and State Historical Society director Bill Peterson invited people to the heritage center as they rang North Dakota’s replica of the Liberty Bell. The bell weighs just over 2,000 pounds and was made in a foundry in France.

BISMARCK, N.D. (KXNET) — Tracy Kershaw and Michelle Peterson from the Furry Friends Rockin’ Rescue got to tell everyone about their older canine companion, Fred. Fred has been a foster of Peterson’s for a while. He’s a big dog, but he’s also a loveable old man. He likes to explore even in his old age, and his temperament keeps people thinking he’s younger than he is. He is a shining example of how older animals can still make good pets.
