WOODLAND, Calif — Yolo County officials warned Tuesday that a projected $35.7 million budget gap could lead to workforce reductions and cuts to county services. PLACER COUNTY, Calif. — Authorities have arrested and charged a suspect in the 1991 kidnapping and murder of Cindy Wanner following a decades-long investigation and a breakthrough in DNA testing, officials said. Family’s 'worst nightmare': Stockton mom of 4 in coma after hit-and-run days before 50th birthday

EMILY WIMER A Stockton family is facing what they call every child’s worst nightmare — waiting and hoping their mother wakes up after a hit-and-run crash. Stockton Police say the collision happened just after midnight April 20 near Hammer Lane and Etna Street in Stockton, where officers responded to a hit-and-run involving a bicyclist and found a woman in the roadway. The woman's daughter, Emily Wimer, identified the victim as Yvette McDermott.
