NG2 cells, commonly recognized as oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs), serve as the primary source of myelinating oligodendrocytes (OLs) throughout both developmental stages and adulthood, and play a pivotal role in fostering myelin plasticity and facilitating myelin regeneration processes under pathological conditions (Dimou and Gallo, 2015, Franklin and Goldman, 2015).

Neural BAS attraction The gold bar/lemon task was designed by Potts et al. (2006) to assess RPE signalling through EEG recording from the scalp (outlined in EEG processing and acquisition below). Using code provided by Dr L. Smillie, the gold bar/lemon task was delivered through ePrime (version 2.0 Psychology Software Tools, Inc. Sharpsburg, PA, USA). This task involved four types of trials, with each trial differentiated by the order that two stimulus types (S1 and S2) were presented.
