Dallas County teams get early recognition in first ASWA state rankings

High school football is back in Alabama, and Dallas County’s top teams are already getting noticed by voters across the state. The Alabama Sports Writers Association has released its first regular-season football poll, and three local teams are part of the statewide conversation after strong starts. Southside leads the local teams, landing at No. 6 in Class 2A. The Panthers haven’t played an official game yet, but voters still remember what this team can do on the field.
