THE BRONX (PIX11) — A 57‑year‑old woman was found dead inside a building in the Bronx, according to authorities. Police said the woman was found unresponsive with trauma to her head and torso, around 3:29 p.m. Friday on Grand Concourse in the Bronx. More Local News She was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS. Officials said the case is being investigated as a homicide. The woman was identified as Josefa Soto De Carmen, 57, of the Bronx, according to police.

Woman struck and killed in NYC hit-and-run, police say Original

GREENWICH VILLAGE, N.Y. (PIX11) — A woman was fatally struck in a hit‑and‑run early Sunday in Manhattan, police said. Officials said the crash happened around 4:58 a.m. near Sixth Avenue and West Washington Place. Police said a 22‑year‑old woman was walking in the crosswalk when she was struck by a gray vehicle. She was taken to a local hospital by EMS, where she was pronounced dead. The driver did not remain at the scene, according to the NYPD.
