Vyhlásil to premiér Robert Fico (Smer-SD) vo svojom najnovšom videu na sociálnej sieti, v ktorom sa opätovne venuje téme údajného ovplyvňovanie volieb na Slovensku zo strany Veľkej Británie s tým, že je to „škandál ako hrom“. „Aj keď je väčšia a silnejšia ako Slovenska, je predsa naším spojencom v NATO a takéto správanie medzi spojencami je neakceptovateľné.

Polícia preveruje informácie v súvislosti s neoprávneným použitím finančných prostriedkov pochádzajúcich zo zdrojov Európskej únie na politickú činnosť. Rovnako preveruje financovanie právnických a fyzických osôb zo zahraničia v súvislosti s možným ovplyvňovaním politickej situácie na Slovensku.

Ministerstvo zahraničných vecí a európskych záležitostí SR si v stredu predvolalo na konzultácie veľvyslanca Spojeného kráľovstva Veľkej Británie a Severného Írska Nigela Bakera. Konzultácie podľa rezortu súviseli so zverejnenými informáciami z britských zdrojov „o závažných podozreniach z ovplyvňovania vnútorných záležitostí a zasahovania do demokratických princípov suverénneho štátu“.

Ako periodikum uviedlo, Martin Williams jasne povedal, že pokiaľ vie, do danej operácie neboli zapojení žiadni novinári, a teda nepovažuje za správne viniť novinárov.

Na tlačovej konferencii na to upozornil predseda vlády Robert Fico s tým, že ovplyvňovanie sa malo týkať aj parlamentných volieb v roku 2023 na Slovensku. Konkrétne malo podľa neho ovplyvňovanie pôsobiť v prospech Progresívneho Slovenska.

Takéto obvinenia sú absurdné a nepravdivé, a často ich počúvame práve zo strany Ruska. Túto dezinformáciu musíme uviesť na správnu mieru a náš postoj dôkladne vysvetliť. Spojené kráľovstvo nechce pokračovanie tejto vojny. Tento konflikt je naozaj hrozný. Vidíme smrť, zranenia a deštrukciu na škále, v akej ju Európa nezažila za osemdesiat rokov. The Pope and Ukraine’s future
The Pope’s announcement at St Peter’s on 3 April that he is calling for a collection on behalf of the long suffering land and people of Ukraine was a significant gesture. On 24 April, all Catholic parishes in Europe will raise money for a country that since the Russian invasion and annexation of Crimea in 2014 has lived through the trauma of war. As many as 1.7 million Ukrainians are refugees in their own country.

Back in February, I wrote about the significance of the relatively few meetings over the years between British monarchs and Popes, not least The Queen’s own encounters with four different Popes since 1951. Each in its way has served as a milestone in the development of the relationship between the United Kingdom and the Holy See. Today’s meeting between The Queen and Pope Francis, the fifth Pope Her Majesty has met personally, was no exception.
