Cancer-derived lactic acid as a potential upstream contributor to tumor hypoxia
Abstract Hypoxia contributes to tumor progression, abnormal blood vessel formation, immune suppression, and therapeutic resistance. Although hypoxia is traditionally viewed as the primary driver of glycolysis, intrinsic oncogenic signaling, mitochondrial dysfunction, and epigenetic reprogramming also stimulate glycolysis independently of oxygen limitation, leading to substantial lactic acid accumulation under oxygenated conditions.

A distributional reinforcement learning model for temporal coagulation balance evaluation and state‑guided supportive suggestions
Abstract Bleeding and thrombosis represent a dynamic continuum in critically ill patients, where overlapping etiologies and heterogeneous pathophysiological mechanisms give rise to mixed-pattern coagulopathy. Conventional risk models usually focus on static, single-timepoint predictions and fail to adapt to rapidly evolving clinical states.

Wireless electrostimulation implants enable sphincter neuromuscular improvement toward mixed urinary incontinence
|
Abstract Mixed urinary incontinence, involving concurrent or diagnostically unclear components of urge- and stress-related dysfunction, remains poorly addressed by current therapeutic strategies. State-of-the-art electrostimulation relies primarily on sacral neuromodulation for urge-predominant symptoms, requiring bulky (~3 cm³) and costly (>$10,000) implants, while stress incontinence is largely managed by mechanical or surgical interventions that do not restore sphincter neuromuscular function.

Experimental study on flame characteristics and heat transfer analysis in flame spread in all directions over flowing n-butanol fuel surface
Introduction Liquid fire is a major concern fire safety problem [[1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6]]. In the case of a liquid fuel leak, the leaked fuel will initially flow on the ground and form a stationary fuel pool of a certain thickness when confined by the firewall [7]. When the fire source acts on the fuel, the flame will spread on the fuel surface, resulting in the expansion of the burning area and having an important impact on the scale of the accident.

Transdiagnostic Connectome‐Based Prediction of Response Inhibition
1 Introduction Response inhibition (RI) is a critical cognitive control function that enables individuals to suppress inappropriate automatic responses, facilitating adaptive decision-making based on environmental demands (Aron 2007; Koechlin et al. 2003). This function is fundamental to cognitive control processes, such as self-regulation and emotion regulation, and it is critical for attaining goal-oriented behavior (Egner 2017; Warren et al. 2013; Zelazo and Cunningham 2007).

Foxp3-mediated blockage of ryanodine receptor 2 underlies contact-based suppression by regulatory T cells
Abstract The suppression mechanism of Tregs remains an intensely investigated topic. As our focus has shifted toward a model centered on indirect inhibition of DCs, a universally applicable effector mechanism controlled by the transcription factor forkhead box P3 (Foxp3) expression has not been found. Here, we report that Foxp3 blocked the transcription of ER Ca2+-release channel ryanodine receptor 2 (RyR2).

Associations of Long-Term Exposure to PM2.5 and Its Constituents with Erythrocytosis and Thrombocytosis in Rural Populations
1. Introduction Erythrocytosis and thrombocytosis are medical conditions characterized by an abnormal increase in red blood cell count (RBC) or platelet count (PLT), respectively, beyond the specific normal medical reference range [1,2]. In clinical practice, erythrocytosis is diagnosed by an elevated concentration of hemoglobin (HGB) or hematocrit (HCT) [3]. Both erythrocytosis and thrombocytosis could be categorized as primary or secondary conditions.

Influence of ADT on B7-H3 expression during CRPC progression from hormone-naïve prostate cancer - Cancer Gene Therapy
Abstract Androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) is the standard care for advanced prostate cancer (PCa) patients. Unfortunately, although tumors respond well initially, they enter dormancy and eventually progress to fatal/incurable castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC). B7-H3 is a promising new target for PCa immunotherapy. CD276 (B7-H3) gene has a presumptive androgen receptor (AR) binding site, suggesting potential AR regulation. However, the relationship between B7-H3 and AR is controversial.
