A Jurassic mammaliaform swimmer and transformation of the mammalian pharynx
Abstract The discovery of a well-preserved mammaliaform fossil from the Middle Jurassic period of China reveals evidence on the evolutionary transformation of the feeding apparatus and the ecological diversity of Mesozoic era mammals. Mammaliaforms are evolutionary predecessors to modern Mammalia1,2,3, and their morphologies provide primary insights into the evolutionary origin of mammals.
Response of China's Terrestrial Carbon Uptake to Shift in Nitrogen Deposition
1 Introduction Human activities such as the combustion of fossil fuels, the use of nitrogenous fertilizer, and livestock farming have led to a surge in atmospheric reactive nitrogen (N) emission and deposition, which has been increased to more than three times as that in the pre-industrial revolution (Galloway et al., 2004; Gruber & Galloway, 2008).
DNAzyme@MOF breaking pH limitation for the detection of dopamine in the interstitial fluid
Dopamine (DA) is a crucial neurotransmitter in the catecholamine family, playing a significant role in the central nervous system (CNS) (Feng et al., 2025; Lei et al., 2020; Nandhini et al., 2024). It regulates a wide array of brain functions, including perception, emotion, behavior, and movement, and is essential for physiological, psychological, and emotional experiences.
Regenerated spent LiFePO4 with tailored residual copper-atoms towards improved energy-storage capacity and reversibility
Promoted by series of remarkable properties, such as low preparation cost, high working voltage platform, excellent thermal stability, and attractive electrochemical cycling performance, LiFePO4 (LFP) cathode has dominated the rechargeable-battery market [1]. In the past decades, the demand for LFP in large-scale energy storage, electronic equipment, and electric vehicles experienced explosive growth [2].
Amorphous titanium dioxide and polyaniline dual modifying silicon for highly enhanced lithium-ion storage
In recent years, lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) have been widely used in electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles due to the small size, environmental protection and other advantages [1], [2], [3]. The traditional commercial LIBs with graphite as negative electrode have been unable to meet the market demand for high energy capacity for lithium storage. Transition metal oxides (TMOs) and alloy-based negative electrodes are then obtained attention owing to their high specific capacities.

Modulation of photoluminescence properties by poling and quenching strategy in rare earth ions doped Na1/2Bi1/2TiO3-based ceramics
In recent years, photochromic (PC) materials have attracted much attention due to their potential applications in optical information storage, optical switching, and optical anti-counterfeiting, etc. PC materials are divided into three categories: organic, inorganic, and organic–inorganic hybrids, among which, ferroelectrics, as a class of inorganic PC materials, have attracted much attention due to their rapid light response and good reversibility.
Presynaptic perspective: Axonal transport defects in neurodevelopmental disorders
The human central nervous system (CNS) consists of hundreds of thousands of interconnected neuronal circuits that give rise to perception, cognition, and behavior. These circuits are wired together through the formation of ∼1015 synapses between ∼1012 neurons (Herculano-Houzel, 2012). Intense synaptogenesis occurs during embryonic and early postnatal stages, persisting throughout adolescence and even into the third decade of human life (Petanjek et al., 2011).
Ultrasmall AuCe nanozyme adjuvant boosted ROS for three-pronged tumor immunotherapy
The antitumor vaccine is a charming immunotherapeutic approach that directs the immune system to kill tumor cells for some tumors. It requires successful delivery of the tumor-specific antigen (TSA) and adjuvant to the appropriate tumor microenvironment (TME) or immune landscape (e.g., antigen-presenting cell, APC) to induce effective tumor regression, produce a broad spectrum of tumor antigens, inhibit tumor cell metastasis, and establish lasting antitumor immune memory.

PROGNOSTIC SIGNIFICANCE OF A NOVEL AMINO ACID METABOLIC INDEX IN CHRONIC LYMPHOCYTIC LEUKEMIA
Introduction: Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is the most common adult leukemia in the western world, with a highly variable clinical course, which makes the study of prognostic influences and treatment options for CLL patients particularly important. Cancer cells readjust their metabolic pathways to accommodate their nutritional demands for reducing equivalents, increased energy and cellular biosynthesis. Altered amino acid metabolism is one way to achieve these demands.

UHR CTL is particularly beneficial in complex congenital heart disease patients with postoperative high-mortality continuous chylothorax and right-to-left shunt.
Identification and genetic characterization of porcine circovirus type 3 in China
Summary A novel circovirus called porcine circovirus type 3 (PCV3) was recently reported to exist in the USA. This circovirus is associated with porcine dermatitis, nephropathy syndrome and reproductive failure. This study reports on the first identification, widely epidemic, different phylogenetic clusters, potential role in sow reproductive failure and possible origins of PCV3 in China.
CRISPR-mediated BMP9 ablation promotes liver steatosis via the down-regulation of PPARα expression
Abstract Obesity drives the development of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) characterized by hepatic steatosis. Several bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) except BMP9 were reported related to metabolic syndrome. This study demonstrates that liver cytokine BMP9 is decreased in the liver and serum of NAFLD model mice and patients. BMP9 knockdown induces lipid accumulation in Hepa 1-6 cells.
