Park City Council may double salaries for the mayor and themselves

PARK CITY, Utah — Park City Council and mayor salaries could more than double for fiscal year 2027. City staff is proposing the increases to put compensation packages in line with other elected officials in Summit County. The mayor’s salary would increase from more than $55,000 to almost $117,000. Councilor salaries would increase from nearly $29,000 to more than $58,000.

Contested Treasure Hill home secures all planning approvals to break ground

The Park City planning department has granted all approvals for the billionaire owner of The Park Record to build a new home exceeding 10,000 square feet on Treasure Hill. Park City Planning Director Rebecca Ward signed off on a Historic District Design Review Thursday for the proposed home, which has faced significant opposition from some Old Town neighbors. Outside of a building permit, the project now has all necessary approvals from Park City government for construction.

Incumbent Heber City Mayor Heidi Franco told the crowd of around 100 residents she’s kept her campaign promises from four years ago. Franco said she opposed expansion of the local airport and worked to improve and protect air and water quality – causes she will remain committed to if reelected.
