Orange County’s unemployment rate fell to 3.7% in April from a revised 3.8% in March and below the 3.8% in April last year, according to the state’s Employment Development Department. The state’s unemployment rate was 5.0% while the U.S.’s was 4.0%. Nonfarm OC employment rose to 1.68 million, up 5,000 jobs. The leisure and hospitality sector added 2,700 jobs. Other sectors that rose include construction, 2,000, private education and health services and government, each up 500 jobs.
