Young economic development official arrested in Webster County

EUPORA, Miss. (WTVA) - Law enforcement arrested a young economic development figure in Eupora. The Webster County Sheriff's Office charged Logan Rico, 17, on Oct. 3 with sexual battery. Investigators released very few details about what allegedly happened because the case remains under investigation. WTVA learned of his arrest shortly after the incident, but had to file a Freedom of Information request to confirm his arrest.

Aggressive dogs kill pets in Tupelo's Joyner neighborhood

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Aggressive dogs continue to attack and kill pets in Tupelo's Joyner neighborhood. Homeowners tell WTVA 9 News that a pack of four or five dogs has killed at least 15 cats this summer. The latest mauling happened on Wednesday at Sally Hester's home on Long Street. Hester said the dogs killed her cat, Blueberry. She found puncture marks on Blueberry's neck. Hester's neighbor, Karla Heaton, said the pack killed her cat, Lilly, about two weeks ago.

Dog attacked man at Baldwyn gas station

BALDWYN, Miss. (WTVA) - A dog attacked a man while he pumped gas in Baldwyn. The attack happened Monday night at the Chevron store on Fourth Street. The dog bit the man's leg. The victim's daughter, Brandie Vance, said her father is in extreme pain and will turn 63 on Saturday. The Baldwyn Police Department is investigating the incident.
