Downstream technological investments, like additive manufacturing or robotics, have always been grabbing headlines. However, less attention has gone toward upstream functions such as knowledge management, procurement intelligence and data reuse.

I am supporting Mary LaFleur for Port of Anacortes commissioner. Mary has extensive experience and is deeply vested in the Anacortes community. Mary has a long and active history with the port and the maritime heritage of Anacortes. She knows how to get things done. Along with her extensive understanding of the port and how it functions, Mary has many other attributes that make her a strong candidate. She is passionate, outgoing and engaging.

Biological signaling networks use feedback control to dynamically adjust their operation in real time. Traditional static genetic methods such as gene knockouts or rescue experiments can often identify the existence of feedback interactions but are unable to determine what feedback dynamics are required. Here, we implement a new strategy, closed-loop optogenetic compensation (CLOC), to address this problem.
