Black Sea drone strikes send CPC tanker rates to $400,000 a day

Repeated drone strikes on tankers loading at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) terminal in Novorossiysk have more than doubled rates since June to about $400,000 a day. The Baltic Exchange’s tanker metric, TD6, which tracks rates from the CPC terminal to Augusta in the Mediterranean has shot up from about WS230 in mid-June to around WS530, equivalent to about $400,000 a day and similar to rates prevailing in the Middle East.
