GENEVA — A 5-0 run by No. 20 Williams College in the second and third quarters proved to be the key factor in Sunday’s NCAA Division III second round game. Despite that, the No. 5 William Smith Herons were able to make it a one-goal game with 61 seconds remaining. A final draw control win by the Herons led to a final push for a tying goal, but the Ephs managed to keep William Smith’s offense wide of goal, and a final shot never reached the goal.

GENEVA — Hobart College baseball isn’t done yet. Following the program’s first Liberty League championship game appearance over the weekend, the Statesmen received an at-large bid into the Division III NCAA tournament. The Statesmen found out they were receiving an at-large bid on Sunday, and their opponent was revealed on Monday during the NCAA selection show.

WATKINS GLEN — Shane van Gisbergen dominated the 2025 Go Bowling at The Glen NASCAR Cup Series race, but a two-time Watkins Glen winner could upend SVG’s domination on road courses. After waiting far longer than anticipated to get his first win in the Next-Gen car, Chase Elliott is on a roll and coming off his second victory of the season. Elliott paced the field for a race-best 87 laps, fending off Denny Hamlin on a late restart to claim his 23rd series win.
